If anyone care to watch a film by sensitive film makers involved in telling real stories about real people with real problems, without the unnecessary dressage of actresses and their inflated personalities, check out anything by the wonderful Ken Loach (British) or the Dardenne brothers (Belgian).
By the way, since most of these death scenes were heavily trimmed for the R rating, you'll have to check out the DVD for the complete scenes which is definitely worth it.

To see a more spirited Ebenezer, check out the George C. Scott version - it puts this half-hearted attempt in the shade.
The end result is that you find yourself A) Laughing at the film for it's flaws, and B) Not even giving a damn for the characters, neither of which should be results of watching a 'good' horror film (Check out Ring or Nightmare on Elm St.).
